My Story

Hello, your sponsored child, Bayron Adolfo Morente De La Cruz sends big hugs and much love to you and your family. I hope you are all doing well and in good health. I want to share some information with you through this short update. I want to tell you that my family has been struggling in different ways recently. We have been through a difficult time. We have had lots of health and financial issues. Unfortunately, we lost all of our livestock a little while ago. We had cows, goats, and sheep, and they were very important to us because they helped us to make money, and it was a source for our family. We have not been able to fully recover from this yet, but we trust that God is in the middle of everything and He will work it out for good. He has blessed us, and we have been able to recover a little bit of what we had before, but we still don’t have what we used to. My parents are doing well, but they are both dealing with illness. My mom has had nervous gastritis for a while, and she was able to take treatment for a little while, but she had to stop because we didn’t have enough money. My dad is also dealing with headaches and weakness, but he hasn’t been able to go to the doctor because we don’t have the money for him to go. Unfortunately, I am not feeling very well right now. I have a bad cough, but luckily, I have the opportunity to go see the doctor at the feeding program. They take very good care of us and give us the medicines we need without charge. They did that for my sister who gets sick often with infections and sore throat. They saw her and gave her what she needed to get better. We are so grateful for everything Living Water Adopt-A-Child does for us. It is a blessing to be a part of this program.

As you know, I don’t have good hearing. I am practically deaf in both ears, so I wear hearing aids to help me here, but the ones I had have gone bad, and I need new ones. They are also very expensive, so we pray God will provide for us in the right time and in His perfect way. We pray that we will be able to get hearing aids soon so I can hear better. I want to tell you that my mom and dad both work to provide for my family. My mom, Maria De La Cruz Gomez primarily works in the house, but she also raises and sells chickens and other domestic animals to make extra money. My dad, Pedro Morente Riz is an agriculture farmer.

My siblings and I also work to help make money and support our household needs. I am not going to school anymore, so that gives me more time to work. Most of the time, I take care of our sheep, but I also work as a farm laborer when I can. When I have time, I like to hang out with my friend, Abraham. We have been friends since we were very young. We like to play soccer together. I also love spending time with my brother Yobany. He is one of the people I love the most in the world because he is so understanding and kind. He is such a good brother and friend. As a family, we go to a Catholic church. We go to mass, and we also love the birthday celebration services. It is a special thing to have a church family. It is also very important to know Jesus. We know that He is the Son of God and He is the Way and the Truth. Even though we go through hard times, we are encouraged to keep seeking the Lord and His ways. I send much love to you and your loved ones. I wish you all the best and many blessings from God in all you do each day. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to remember me. I hope you will pray for me and my family as we pray for you. God bless you abundantly. Thank you for being my padrinos.

With much love,

Bayron Adolfo Morente De La Cruz
