My Story

Special regards from Chixocol village! I am so happy and grateful to you for taking the time to read my updated information. I am Juan Carlos Sicajau Ruiz and by means of this letter, I want to tell you that LW-Adopt A Child has been a great blessing in my community. My parents had the opportunity to be part of the feeding program when they were children. The most beautiful memories they have are receiving bible lessons and having delicious meals. Because of their own experience, they felt motivated to take my sister and me there. They were not wrong when they said we would receive meaningful support. Therefore, thank you so much for supporting the work this organization has done for a long time! I am 19 years old and I am dedicated to helping my mother to feed and take care of our domestic animals. We raise chickens and cows to sell and contribute to the household expenses.

To earn extra income, we sell radishes and cabbages grown by ourselves. Thankfully, we are doing well. I prefer cold rather than hot weather because it is refreshing. About my father, I tell you that he continues working in the United States. We are in touch with him every three days, so we know that he makes a living by taking care of pigs at a farm. We usually receive his financial support every fifteen days. I want you to know that I like serving in whatever my siblings in Christ need. My family and I are members of the Catholic Church. We feel motivated to attend our church because we found a family that encourages each other and visits people, especially the sick. I am pleased to tell you that my mother has assurance about her salvation because she is God’s daughter and accepted him as her Savior a while ago. She was grateful to sister Sandra (a member of the LW staff) because she was encouraged to keep going in her faith recently. It is time to say goodbye, but I kindly ask you to pray for my family and provision. Until next time!
