My Story

My full name is Jonathan Alexander Mendez and I am so happy to share my updated information with you. I am 14 years old and I hope you are keeping well. I am in third grade at school and I have attended the feeding program for many years. Besides having delicious food, I like receiving Bible classes because it helps me to learn more about God. About my health, I tell you that I was born with a heart murmur, but fortunately, I am already under treatment. Thanks to the Lord, I am living like a normal teenager. I tell you that I also have attended the LW clinics and I have received medicine, which has been a great blessing not only for me, but for my whole family. My mother is grateful for this and many other benefits I have received there. She felt motivated to enroll me at the feeding program because she noticed that our neighbors took their children there, so she asked them about it and received good comments. I tell you that she keeps busy doing the chores, while my stepfather works as a day laborer and farmer to support our family.

About my biological father, I tell you that I have heard nothing since he abandoned us. I kindly ask you to pray for my mother since she suffers from high blood pressure and cysts in her womb. I am glad because she already receives medical attention at the public clinic of our village every month. Now, let me tell you a little bit more about me. I usually help my mother with the chores like sweeping or mopping. I prefer cold rather than hot weather because the air is refreshing to do my daily activities. I attend the Sunday Bible school of my church and I like participating in all the activities. My family and I are members of a Methodist Church and feel motivated to go there because we feel God’s presence. We are really grateful to Him for the life he has given us. I tell you that my mother does not have any doubt about her salvation because she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. To end this letter, I tell you that sister Sandra (a member of the LW staff) recently congratulated and encouraged her to keep going. Until next time!
