My Story

Hello! My name is Alisja Golemi. Thank you for reading about me and my family through this information provided by the team of Adopt a Child. I am 11 years old and my birthday is on September. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is black. Usually I prefer my clothes I buy to contain this color. My future dream is to become an English teacher. I go to secondary school where I spend the first part of the day and enjoy learning. My favorite subject English. I enjoy going to school where I spend the first part of my day and after school, I usually stay a bit longer to engage with my friends in games or conversations. When I am home, I usually offer to help my mother when she cleans our house. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We can visit this town very often because it is very close. My house offers good living conditions to us. I have five members in my family who are my parents, sister and brother. My sister is older and my brother is younger. They are both registered in the sponsorship program. My parents own land, but they are not dealing with agriculture. My father has constantly gone to work in Greece and he earns enough income to provide for us without having the need to plant for consumption. My father owns a car and he travels to Greece where he stays working for three to six months. He works in construction and from time to time he comes to see us, so it is good that he has managed to buy a car. My mother gets busy during the day carrying for my younger brother and she is also doing all else in the house, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes, etc. We are not considered too poor, even though we live with low income. I am thankful that I benefit food packages together with my siblings while we frequent the program. I am also thankful to the teachers of the Bible classes for the spiritual education they bring to us through lessons and lots of other activities. Through the program we have also dental care offered to us and we are happy to go to the dentist and get our teeth fixed. Thank you for all your care and God bless you!
