My Story

Hello dearest sponsor!  I send you a blessed greeting hoping that you and your family are doing well.  it is a pleasure for me to tell you a little about my family in this letter.  I live with my parents and my siblings.  My mother’s name is Juana and she is a housewife.  She also weaves typical items that she sometimes sells to help us economically.  Last year, she was sick, but she took medicine and now she is better. My father’s name is Lucas and he works in the capital as a “cargador” (a person who carries heavy bundles on his back from place to place for other people).  He goes to work for one or two months and he sends us money for our expenses.  Also, he travels to the cost with my sisters to work during the coffee harvest.  When my father is here, he works as a farmer and plants our crops.  He also works as a day laborer.  I have four brothers and 4 sisters.  My sisters, Tomasa and Florinda, help with the expenses.

They work in the capital in a tortilleria and they also go with my father to work on the coast during the coffee harvest.  Thanks to God, all of us are in good health at this time.  This year, I am repeating 3rd grade because last year, I worked for three months and failed my grade.  I like to study and my favorite subject is mathematics.  When I get older, my dream is to work in the capital in a tortilleria and to earn money to help my family.  Happy moments for me with my family are at Christmas because I get to light firecrackers.  In my free time, I like to play tag with my friends.  My family goes to a Pentecostal church and I like to sing and to participate in the service.  Our church is close to my house.  Thank you for everything.  I ask for your prayers for my family.  Take care of yourself and your family.  I wish you blessings in everything that you do.  See you later.

Blessings and much love,

Irma Yolanda De la Cruz De la Cruz
