Hello! I am Rolando, and I am happy to have the opportunity to tell you how my family and I are doing through this letter. We are still members of the Catholic Church, and we attend the mass on Tuesday. We have accepted Jesus in our hearts, and LW Evangelism team has encouraged us to continue seeking God. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries and corn. We have hens, pigs and three cows at home, and we sell them when we are in need of money. We grow corn and black beans, but they are for our consumption. My father’s name is Agustin, and he is 58 years old. He is in good health, and he works as a farmer and day laborer. My mother’s name is Julia, and she is 56 years old. She is in good health, and she works hard at home.
My full name is Rolando Ajqui De La Cruz, and I turned 16 in January. I am healthy, and I am in 6th grade. It is easier for me to learn my lessons now that I am attending school in person. I study in my village, so the school expenses are not so high. I want to travel to the United States in the future in order to improve my family income. I like playing football, and I love drinking “atol de mosh” (hot drink made from oats). I would like to have a special lunch with my family for my birthday. My favorite year’s celebration is Christmas because I can eat “tamales”. I speak Quiche dialect as my first language, so I have to improve my Spanish. Living Water and you are very important for me because you bless me with food and presents through the feeding program. I say goodbye to you for now hoping to hear from you soon.
Many blessings
Rolando Ajqui De La Cruz
