My Story

Hello! How are you? I hope God is pouring out many blessings upon you. I am Leonel Poncio Rodriguez, and I want to tell you about my family and life. Let’s start talking about my loved ones. My father’s name is Eulogio, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer to support the family. My mother does not live with us nor support us financially. So, I stay under the care of my paternal grandmother Victoria, who is 55 years old; she keeps working hard at home. The income is low, so we are frequently in need of groceries like corn. We raise sheep, cows and hens for selling and improving our economy. We also grow some corn, but it is for our consumption. We are not attending church at the moment, so LW Evangelism team encouraged us to seek God’s Way again.

I am in good health, and I am 16 years old now. I repeated 6th grade this year, and I learned more since classes were face-to-face. It was difficult for my dad to buy my school supplies, but he did his best. I want to work in Guatemala City when I am older, and I have to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. My favorite beverages are “Incaparina and Mosh” (these are typical hot drinks made from corn, soy, milk and oats). My family does not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our economic situation. I like playing soccer. Living Water is very important for me, and I am grateful for the delicious lunches received. I say goodbye to you for now hoping you find my letter interesting.

All the best
