My Story

Hello! My name is Erti. I am 16 years old, and my birthday is on May. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is green, and my future dream is to join the police department and work as police. I go to school where I spend the first part of the day. This year I am in first grade high school and I am happy we have a high school in our village, so that I can study and be also close to my family. I enjoy learning and so far I am doing well in Albanian language and literature. I like to do reading better compared to calculating or solving Mathematic problems. After the lesson hours are over, I like to stay at school for a bit longer with my friends, so I can spend time with them. We all enjoy playing football and the sport school of the village is the only one place we can play this game. As soon as I go in the house, I start to work and help my family. During the summer, I collected wood from our nearest mountain, so that we can use them now, as winter has almost arrived. The fire burns all day and while the stove is burning wood, my mother cooks. I have also helped my parents during the summer, working together with them in our vegetable garden. My family consists of five members. Our house is old and not in good condition, even through, we are happy to have a house of our own. We live in a village near the town of Prrenjas, and I go there during the weekends, while I am not at school, and in this town they have the open market day. My father is invalid because he cut his fingers during working, so now he is disabled. My father receives an invalid pension which is a very small amount to cover all the needs of our family. I have a matured brother who works in Northern Macedionia and provides for us. Even through, because he is mature, he needs to work and provide for his own needs. My mother during this year has also not been able to work as much, since she had a surgery and now, she needs to take things easier and she is not capable of a big job that needs to be done in agriculture. While working on our land, we have vegetables for consumption. Besides my older brother, I have also a sister who is five years old. She is also in the program. My sister and I go together in the Bible classes of the program and we are blessed with food packages every two months. I go to the church services and am happy to learn about the Lord.
