My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Eduardo, and I want to share some of my last news with you. I attend Liberty Church three times weekly with my family. We are sure Jesus is our Savior. I appreciate the LW staff for encouraging my family and me to continue growing spiritually. One of them spoke with my sister Glenda to get this information for you. I want to use this moment to tell you the feeding program is a crucial project for many children like me. We receive delicious lunches and listen to God’s news. My mother, Santos Morente, is 43 years old. She works as a domestic employee in our community. Since my father abandoned our family, my mother has done her best to support my younger brother and me. We need clothes and food at home. We have heard that my father works as a motorcycle taxi driver. To survive, we raise hens and grow corn, beans, bananas, and peaches for our consumption. I turned twelve years old in April. I usually enjoy celebrating my birthday with my family. Nowadays, I am in sixth grade. I prefer to attend face-to-face classes at school because I learn more and better. Our economic situation is limited and because of that, my mother has trouble covering my school equipment. I would love to help her economically by working in the field when I am older. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for my family and my future. I also would like to improve my Spanish speaking. My native language is the K’iche dialect. I love celebrating Christmastime because it is the most special of the year. My favorite refreshment is lemonade. There are many sports, but my favorite is soccer. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear from you soon. May God bless you!

Kind regards,

Eduardo Alfredo Chom Morente
