My Story

It is my pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus hoping you are doing great! At the moment, we are not attending church, but we believe in God. This time LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to seek God and look for a church. I am so thankful to God because my family and I are healthy. My father is Mario Solorzano, but sadly, he abandoned us years ago, and we do not know anything about him. My mother is Dayana Vasquez, and she is 40 years old. She makes a living by teaching in a school; she is a teacher. Fortunately, she supplies the home needs. We do not raise animals or grow anything because we do not have space at home.

I am Mario Enrique Solorzano Vasquez, and I am a 13-year-old boy. I am a sixth-grade student; since I receive classes at school, my learning has improved a lot. My mother is the one who covers my studies, but now, everything is expensive, and it is hard for her to cover all the expenses at home. The sport I like the most is football, and my dream is to become a professional football player. My native language is Spanish, but I would like to learn K'iche´ Mayan dialect; it is so interesting for me. I like Christmas time; my mother cooks “tamales” (a typical dish), and we eat them at Eve dinner. I feel so happy when my birthday comes, and my family buys me a cake to celebrate together. I like sodas, especially Coca-Cola which is my favorite one. Being part of Living Water is a great blessing for me because I receive tasty meals and medical care in the clinics which is so helpful for me and my family. My family needs groceries. So long. May God bless you wherever you go!

Special hugs,

Mario Enrique Solorzano Vasquez
