My Story

This is your sponsored child, Josue, and I am excited to share my last news with you. I hope you and your loved ones are keeping well. My family and I attend a Christian Church called Pentecostal United. We usually attend our services on Sundays. I am happy because Jesus is in my heart. My parents also allowed him to enter their hearts. We were encouraged by a teacher of the evangelism team. She also collected this information for you. I want to use this moment to let you know the feeding program is a crucial project. We praise the Lord for having good-hearted people like you in our lives. Thanks to your loving support, I can receive spiritual and material help. My father, Gilberto Grave, is 40 years old. He does farm work to support our family. He is a diabetic man, but he does not take his treatment because of a lack of money. Despite that, he is stable. My mother, Elena Garcia, is 39 years old. She makes typical clothes such as blouses, skirts, and aprons. She helps my father with her income. As for her health, she is doing well.

We have hens, turkeys, dogs, and cats at home. Fortunately, we have space at home to grow corn, beans, avocado, banana, pomegranate, mango, and jocotes (the last ones are typical fruits). Now, I want you to know that I am a healthy boy. I will turn sixteen years old in September. I wish to have a delicious cake or a special lunch to celebrate my birthday with my family. I am in eighth grade. I prefer to attend classes at school because I learn the lessons much better. My parents have to pay many expenses at home, so it has been hard for them to cover my school equipment. Nowadays, we need groceries. My dream is to become a successful lawyer when I am older. I also would like to learn how to speak English. Christmas is the best holiday to enjoy the tasty tamales. Besides that, I love spending that lovely time with my family and friends. My favorite beverages are juices and atol de haba (it is a typical hot beverage made of broad bean, cinnamon, water, and sugar). There are many sports, but I love playing football. To finish this letter, I thank you so much for all you have done for me. See you later!

With many kisses and hugs,

Josue Daniel Grave Garcia
