My Story

Hello! This is Jakelin Abigail, and I am glad to share my latest news with you. I hope this letter finds you doing well. At the moment, my family and I do not attend any church. We are glad and grateful to the LW staff for telling us how much God loves us. Let me tell you that my mom and I gave all my information to an AAC member. The feeding program has blessed us tremendously, especially in the challenging moments. My father, Jorge Mario Montenegro Munoz, is 47 years old. He works hard every day to support our family. My mother, Thelma Floridalma Torres Campos, is 46 years old. Like many housewives, my mom keeps busy doing the chores and preparing meals. Thankfully, my parents are in good health. As for me, I want you to know that I am 14 years old. I have had kidney problems for about four years.

My health is stable, thanks to the treatment that I have received at the Guatemalan Social Security (IGSS). However, I would like to count on your prayers for me and my parents because the Social Security will stop providing me with the treatment when I turn 15 years old. When that moment comes, my parents will have to look for another hospital to continue with my treatment. Talking about education, let me tell you that I was in eighth grade this year. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because the teachers explain lessons much better. My dream is to become a lawyer and speak English. I hope to accomplish my dreams with God’s favor. I love Christmastime because of the cozy environment. My favorite drink is lemonade, and I like soccer. There are many engaging things to do when you want to celebrate a birthday. In my case, I love going for walks to celebrate a new year of life with my family. I say goodbye to you for now, but I thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. Take care of yourself!
