Rodokal
Albania
Child
Hello! My name is Armina Rustemi. I am a 7 years and my birthday is on January 18th. I am doing well and enjoy good health. My favorite color is red and my future dream is to be a police officer. I like to play with dolls when I am at home as well. I usually play when I return home form school. I attend first grade from morning till midday and enjoy learning. My favorite subject is of course ABC because I am learning to read and write by myself. and my mother or grandmother comes to take me from school and walk me home. The weather is quite cold during the season of winter in my country and I have to spend many hours inside the house. During the evenings, I like to sit by the fire and watch cartoons.
My family and I live in Rodokal in an old home that contains three rooms. I have six persons in my family including my mother and father. I have an 12 year old brother in the sixth grade who is also in the program. We are in the season of winter and at present it is cold. We use a cooking stove in our home so that my mother can cook and we can all stay warm in the same time. My father and mother are working in the land we have here in the village and during the past months they have planted vegetables. We have also got a few vines and my father collect the grapes and makes wine or an Albanian alcoholic brand drink called Raki that we serve to the guests. He is able to sell a few litters, but he doesn’t earn much to be considered out of this brand. My mother during the past months has planted vegetables. On autumn they preserve the vegetables that we can’t consume and we consume them during the winter. We have preserved tomatoes, cabbages and peppers. We have also got beans and onions. Our house is old, as the majority of the homes in our village and doesn’t offer appropriated living conditions to us. We do have a car we use for personal use. We face poverty and at times my father tries to immigrate and work for a season in Northern Macedonia in order to provide for us. My grandfather and grandmother live in our home too. They are retired and receive small village pension but they can’t offer to provide what they need for themselves and for this reason they are living with us, my father and mother supply their needs. I am very thankful to the Adopt a Child church in Rodokal for helping us. I attend the Bible classes every week and love learning. I have received a package containing groceries every six weeks from Adopt a Child programme and am thankful to those who provide for me. Thank you for your care and support to me. God bless you!
