My Story

Hello, I am so grateful to write this short update for you. I pray you are doing well and enjoying many blessings from God. Thank you for taking the time to read my information. I know God led you to my profile for a purpose. My name is Estefany Josefina Luis Riz. I am 14 years old, and I am doing well by the grace of God. I don’t go to school anymore because my family can’t afford it. I was able to finish through 7^th grade last year, but I could not continue. Now, I am staying home to help my mom would the chores and housework at home. We live very far from the program, so we have to walk for an hour or more to get there, but I still love going because it is such a blessing to me and my family. My family is doing well. My dad is working, and my mom is staying home to do the housework and take care of the family. My dad actually works most of the time at the coast, which is very far away from where we live. He travels to the coast for two months to work on coffee plantations, and then he comes back home for two weeks. He does this throughout the year so he can support our family. My mom also raises chickens and pigs to sell, and she makes some money this way for our family. We are a very close family. Some of my favorite memories are from when we celebrate Christmas each year. We always get together with our family and it is one of the happiest times of the year.

 I can always see the love of God through these experiences. I am very grateful for my mom and my sister. My mom is very special to me because I spend the most time with her at home. I also love spending time with my sister, Maria Isabel. She is my best friend, and we always love to talk. I know God is with us, but I don’t really know much about Jesus. We have not been to church regularly in three years. I do know that Jesus is the Savior of the world. The teachers from Living Water always encourage us to seek the Lord, and they share the gospel with us so we can learn about Jesus. It is very special to be a part of the program.
