My Story

It is a beautiful day to greet you in the name of Jesus and I trust he is taking care of you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Church of Christ; we go on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We trust our salvation in Christ, and we appreciate the encouraging words that LW staff gave us this time. My mother is Gregoria Simaj De La Cruz, and she is 29 years old. She stays busy with the duties at home. My father is Moises Pu, and he is 40 years old. He makes a living as a farmer and looks after cattle. He does his best to supply the family´s needs. At home, we raise some cows to sell and to supply the family's consumption. Thanks to God, we all are fine.

I am Priscila Ester Pu Simaj, and I am already 10 years old. I am a third-grade student; I receive classes at school and my learning is going well. Moreover, I enjoy playing with my classmates. Supporting me at school is hard for my parents because of a lack of resources, especially since my other siblings are also studying, and my father is the only one who works. For now, I want to learn how to do the chores and help my mother. I speak the K'iche´ Mayan dialect as my native language and have some knowledge of Spanish. However, I would like to enhance my proficiency in Spanish to communicate better with others. I enjoy playing football, which is the sport I like the most. I like sodas, especially Coca-Cola which is my favorite one. I like spending time with my family, especially at Christmas; we have a joyful time. We do not celebrate our birthdays at home, but I would like to receive gifts someday. I think it will be fantastic. Being part of Living Water is a great blessing for me because I receive tasty meals, and I enjoy playing with other children when I go to the program. My family needs groceries, corn, and black beans. I wish you the best. Every blessing for you!

Warm greetings,

Priscila Ester Pu Simaj
