My Story

Special regards from the beautiful Duenas town! I am Gerber Adan Velasquez Chuy and I am a healthy 10- year-old boy. In this opportunity, I want to express to you how grateful my grandmother is for all the support that my brother and I have received at LW-Adopt A Child for the last seven years. I want you to know that I am doing my best at school as a fourth grader. I like both cold and hot weather. I usually sweep or do any chore to help my grandmother. My brother and I have lived under her care since my mother is in prison. We do not know when she will be free. Could you please pray for us?

My grandmother is a housewife and suffers from hypertension, but she is under treatment. My father does not live with us but helps us financially. I do not know what he does for a living. My family and I attend the Catholic Church, which has been a blessing since we can take part in the holy mass on Sundays. My grandmother has assurance about her salvation because she works hard to be obedient to God’s word. I am grateful to brother Franklin (a member of the LW staff) because he recently encouraged her to continue looking for the Lord in order to reach our spiritual goal, which is going to heaven. It is time to say goodbye, but I hope to hear from you soon.
