My Story

Hello! My name is Mateo Leka. I am 17 years old and my birthday is on May 16th. I am doing well and enjoy good health. My favorite color is broun and my future dream is to become mechanic. I like to fix things when they are broken and think that in the future, I might like in a car service. I frequent the 12th grade at school in Tirana this year and enjoy learning mechanics. I enjoy my time with my class friends after school. We play football usually, but at other times, we also like to talk walks and fellowship. I  like to help my parents during my holidays time as they are working in the fields and garden and I also like to buy groceries in the shop when my mother sends me to buy staff she needs. I like to read and study my school books during the evenings. I sit in the living room because this room is the only warm room in the house and study in dinning table.I am in Tirana just to stady. Our house offers appropriated conditions to us. I have my mother and father and two sisters. My father and mother deal with agriculture and we have land that we own as family. They plant crops and vegetables for consumption. My mother had done the canning on autumn with the vegetables that were left and not consumed. My father is also emigrating for three months in Greece and there he is working for a season in agriculture for the people who hire him there. We miss him very much, but we are thankful that he has this job to provide income and cover our living costs. My mother is staying at home and she cleans, cooks,take special care for my little sisters and keep the house in order. Same as all the families who live in my village, we are poor and live with low income. I am very thankful to the sponsorship programme of Adopt a Child for the benefits I receive. I go to the meetings of the church whenever I am free from my school ,My mom and sisters atend those mettings as well,we are happy to learn from the Word of God about the Lord Jesus. The LW/Adopt a Child church meets for the weekly service on Monday and Twezday. During those days of the week, the church has Bible classes for small children as well as three Bible studies in small groups for ladies and men. The children who are registered in the sponsorship programme of Adopt a Child are constantly every eight weeks receiving a food package containing pasta, rice, oil, sugar, etc. This package has been a blessing to each child and family in the village.
