Child
Thank you for reading my story, created from the team of Adopt a Child, after asking questions to me. My name is Mikela Kretaj and I am 12 years old. My birthday is on February. I am doing well and considered healthy child. My favorite color is pink and my future dream is to study and become medical doctor. I frequent secondary school at present and my school is not very far from the house, so I walk to get there. My favorite subject is English. I enjoy the first part of the day that I spend at school because there I meet with my class friends and we have a lot of fun and games during the lesson breaks. While I am at school, I also care for my older brother because he is considered as child with special needs. I meet with him during the long break and see how he is doing and give to him the packed lunch I have taken from the house. After school, I like to spend a lot of time to stay close to my brother in the house too. He is very active and in to all things and I keep an eye on him constantly. Still, I manage my time to sit and study so that I can be prepared for the next day of school. I meet with my friends that live near and we go out for walks and fellowship. After all. I also need to help my mother in the house with cleaning and from time to time with cooking. My family lives in the town in a house that my parents have rented. I have four persons containing our family who are my father, mother, brother and me. My father is not healthy and he has slowness in thinking. He is unable to articulate the words properly and he also has problems walking. He is invalid and receives pension from the government dedicated to people with needs as his, but his pension is not covering all the needs in our family. My mother for this reason is trying her best to work and become the provider of our needs. She has been hired from individual families to do for them cleaning in their houses. This job is paid very less but we are thankful for any bit of finances that can be available to us. My brother is mentally ill too but he is not receiving any financial support or care. He goes to school just to fellowship with people and while he is there, the school has special teachers dedicated to children with needs as his. Our family is challenged financially and in a lot of other ways and we have been part of the sponsorship program for a long while already. My brother and I receive food packages constantly and I go to the church services and the other activities that the church organizes. I go to church together with my mother who as well enjoys hearing about the Lord. Thank you for the generosity and care you are giving to me as well as to my whole family. God bless you!
