My Story

This is Diego Jordany Tiquiram De La Cruz, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. Currently, we are members of Ebenezer Church, and we attend the service on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. We are assured of our Salvation. We raise hens for selling and improving our income. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries like corn. My father’s name is Benjamin, but he is not part of my life. My mother’s name is Ana. She is 26 years old, and she is in good health. She works hard on a chicken farm to support our needs.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 11 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 5^th grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. It has been difficult for my mother to cover my school expenses, but she is doing her best. I want to travel to the United States when I am older in order to earn my own money. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we prepare the traditional “tamales”. We do not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking lemonade. I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the delicious lunches received. I hope to hear from you soon.
