My Story

Hi! I greet you from the bottom of my heart and hope you have a brilliant and blessed day. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we are attending the Catholic Church twice a week.  Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, she has Jesus in her heart. My mother´s name is Francisca Chic Gonzalez. She is 44 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of the family. Moreover, she raises hens and cows at home. My father´s name is Rufino Garcia Lastor.  He is 49 years old. At the moment, he continues working by tending his own hardware shop in Joyabaj town. We grow corn for our family´s consumption. As a humble family, our current need is groceries. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Rudy Rufino Garcia Chich and I am 8 years old. This year I am in 2^nd grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot about the homework due to the good explanations given by my teachers. Thank God, my father is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive, but he is providing for every expense. My dream is to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to improve my communication with others. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because our custom is to light fireworks with my friends. I like to drink “Mosh” (a hot beverage made of whole oatmeal). What I like for my birthday is to have some gifts and a cake. Among sports, I like soccer. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December.
