My Story

Hello, everybody! My full name is Yonel De La Cruz Ajqui and it is such a blessing to share a little bit about my life with you. I am 17 years old and I am dedicated to working in the field alongside my father, who makes a living as a day laborer. I prefer cold weather rather than hot because it is much better to work. While we keep busy outside, my mother works hard doing the chores and raising chickens for our consumption. My whole family and I travel to the coast and work in a coffee farm from November to January to earn a little extra income. Thankfully, we are all in good health. I attend the Catholic Church and I would like to serve there as a musician in the worship band by playing the drums.

My family and I are so happy to attend this church because we listen to God’s word through the scriptures and continue learning how to take care of our relationship with him. I am glad to tell you that my father has assurance of being admitted into Heaven because Jesus died on a cross in order to give us salvation. I want to use this opportunity to express to you how grateful my parents are for all the food that I have been able to receive at the feeding program because it has been a great blessing not only for me, but for my siblings too. I have attended this project for about twelve years and what I like the most is praying before having my meals. This is all for now, but thank you so much for taking the time to read my information.
