My Story

Hello! My name is Armela. Thank you for reading about me and my family through this information provided by the team of Adopt a Child. I am 10 years old, and my birthday is on July. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is pink, and my future dream is to become a teacher. I like to teach children because I think that education is the best treasure for them to have for a better future. After school, I meet to play with my friends who live near my house. Most of the children where I live like to play outside in nature. We play with ball, elastics and have a lot of other games that we enjoy playing. When I am inside the house, I like to draw and color. I use painting for relaxation. I go to primary school where I spend the first part of my day. Schools in our country start on September after the summer break. The first weeks were very exciting because I got to meet again with my classmates and teachers that I missed seeing during the summer. I enjoy learning and the subject that I like to study best is Mathematics. At the end of the day, I sit to study and prepare for school and usually my older brother sits by my side to help me study well and checks on me while I do the homework. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We can visit this town very often because it is very close. My house offers good living conditions to us. I have four members in my family who are my parents, brother and me. My older brother goes to school and he is also in the program of Adopt a Child. My father works in Northern Macedonia. He has not a full time job and works when he is required, sometimes for weeks or months. He has his own car so when he is required to go to work in Northern Macedonia, he has his own car to travel there. The job opportunities in our country are very small and I am happy that my father can work abroad so that he can provide our basic needs. My mother gets busy during the day, cleaning, cooking, carrying for us, working in the garden, etc. We own a very small portion of land in which my mother plants vegetables for consumption in our family. At present, the products got collected and she will start planting next year on Spring. We are not dealing a whole lot with farming because we have only a little portion of land. We are not considered too poor because my father is working abroad, even though we live with low income. I frequent the Adopt a Child program where I receive food packages. I am thankful to the teachers of the Bible classes for the spiritual education they offer to us through lessons and lots of other activities. Through the program we have also dental care provided to us and we are happy to go to the dentist and get our teeth fixed. Thank you for all your care and God bless you!
