My Story

Dear Sponsor, I feel so happy to write you again. This is Santos Mejia Gonzalez, and I am 6 years old now. This year, I am in 1st grade at school. I want to tell you that one of the saddest moments of my life was a year ago when my mother decided to travel to the United States to work and give us a better life. During this time, I could feel the presence of the Lord, who gave me comfort. Jesus is love. I enjoy spending my spare time with my grandmother because she gives me a lot of confidence. I do not have a best friend but I enjoy playing toy dishes and riding a bicycle with my cousin Marta Pu. I am a healthy girl.

My mother Maria, continues living and working in the United States. She works by cleaning in a restaurant. She sends us money every fifteen days and calls me every week, and this makes me very happy. My mother remarried another man called Nicolas Matias. He works butchering chickens in the United States, but he does not help us with our expenses or communicate with us. I continue living with my grandfather Salvador. He earns a living working as farmer and my grandmother, Santos, improves our incomes by weaving napkins and she also raises chickens to sell. They are in good health. My family attends the Catholic church. I like going to church services on Mondays and Thursdays. The evangelism teachers encouraged my family to continue in God’s ways. My aunt Tomasa Mejia, helped me to bring my information. I am grateful to you for taking the time to read my letter.

God bless you!

Santos Mejia Gonzalez
