My Story

Hello! I am so excited to send many greetings in this opportunity. Due to personal problems, we do not attend church, even though we have Jesus in our hearts. We give thanks to the LW staff because they shared the gospel and encouraged us to seek God and look for a church. I am grateful to be healthy and also for my family. My mother is Irma, and she is 30 years old. She does the household work and raises hens for selling. Furthermore, she weaves typical clothes for selling to get income. My father is Domingo Alonso, but he abandoned us years ago, and he does not support us in any way.

I am Silvia Elizabet Alonzo Cux, and I am a 13-year-old girl. I am in third grade; my classes are at school, and it is easy to comprehend the lessons in this way. My mother is striving to support me at school even though she does not have a stable job or a safe wage. My native language is Quiche dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. Later, I would like to work in a restaurant to help my mother with the expenses. I like to play football in my free time; it is the sport I like the most. Of all drinks, my favorite is soda. I get excited when my birth date comes because my family celebrates with a small reunion at home. I like Christmas because I share a special lunch with my loved ones; it is a cheerful time as a family. I am so grateful to Living Water who provides me with a tasty meal each time I go and the dental and medical attention; it is a big blessing for me. We are a needy family, and the things we need most are groceries and corn. Hoping to receive news from you soon. Many blessings!

Strong hugs,

Silvia Elizabet Alonzo Cux
