My Story

My full name is Maria Maribel de la Cruz Cux, and I fondly greet you through this letter. I am glad to share a little about my life with you. Before starting, I want you to know that my mother and a member of the LW staff helped me write this. I am 10 years old, and I am in second grade again. I am grateful to God for taking care of me, especially when I was in the hospital last year. I remember that I was running away from some dogs, but I fell and broke my right hand. Therefore, I had to wear a cast for six weeks. My family and I still do not attend church, but we know that Jesus is our faithful friend, and he will never leave us alone. My mother and I appreciate being part of LW because the staff kindly encourages us to seek the Lord. In this opportunity, one of them shared the gospel with us and invited us to attend a nearby church.

I want you to know that my mother and I are healthy. My grandmother is a diabetic woman, but she is under treatment. Having these wonderful women with me has been a great blessing. I have a lot of confidence in them. As for my father, I want you to know that he abandoned us a long time ago. The one who supports our family is my mother. She has a job in a tortilleria business in Zacualpa town every day. I usually spend time with her at night. While she goes to work, my grandmother takes care of me. She is a housewife and weaves typical items to contribute to the expenses. It is almost time to say goodbye, but I want you to know that my best friend’s names are Ingrid and Sheyla.
