My Story

Hi! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you have a blessed and wonderful day.  First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we continue attending the charismatic group that belongs to the Catholic Church twice a week. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. She has Jesus in her heart. My mother´s name is Marta Grave De La Cruz. She is 23 years old. She earns a living by working as a day laborer in order to support us financially since my father abandoned us many years ago. My grandfather works as a day laborer, and he contributes to our home expenses. We are under the care of my grandmother while my mother is working. She raises hens and pigs at home. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Juan Ramos Grave, and I am 9 years old. Unfortunately, this year I am repeating 2nd grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes daily and am learning a lot with this study method. I hope to pass my grade with God`s help. Thankfully, my mother is making an effort to support my brother and me at school despite the school fees being so expensive. My dream is to become a mason or mechanic. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish to improve my communication with others. “Mosh” (a hot beverage made of oatmeal) is what I prefer to drink.  My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to light fireworks with my friends. What I like to do for my birthday is to receive some gifts from my relatives. Among sports, I prefer cycling. As a humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December. I hope you enjoy reading my letter. May God bless you greatly and protect you everywhere you are!

Huge hugs,

Juan Ramos Grave
