My Story

It is a blessing for me to say hello to you through this letter. This is Jessica Dominga, and I hope you are having a fantastic day wherever you are. Let me tell you that my family and I attend the Catholic Church in our community once a week. We are glad because Jesus is in our hearts. My father, Luis de la Cruz, is 35 years old. He supports our family by working as a farmer. My mother, Maria Gutierrez, is 27 years old. She keeps busy with the chores and taking care of my siblings and me. As for health, my mom suffers from gallbladder problems. She has to undergo surgery soon. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for her. The rest of my family and I are doing well. We need groceries at home. Taking advantage of this moment, I want you to know that LW is a meaningful project for us. My family and I have received much help in the most challenging moments.

I am a first-grade student this year. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because I learn the lessons so much better. That also helps me to do homework easily. My father does his best for our family, although he sometimes has had trouble buying my school supplies because they are expensive. I would love to become a teacher when I am older. I also would love to speak other languages like English and the K’iche dialect. Christmas is the best holiday ever because I receive Christmas gifts at the feeding program. My favorite drink is lemonade and I love playing with my kitchen toys. I turned seven years old in March. What I love the most is going for walks with my family to celebrate my birthday. To end this story, I want you to know that a teacher from LW spoke with my father to collect all my news for you. I say goodbye to you for now, but it was a pleasure for me to share a little about my life with you. See you later!

With many blessings,

Jessica Dominga de la Cruz Gutierrez
