My Story

I hope you are having a blessed day alongside your loved ones; God bless you! Due to personal problems, we do not attend church, but we believe in God. We appreciate so much LW staff because they shared the gospel and gave us encouraging words to seek God. I want to ask for your prayers for my father who has lumps with pain in one of his arms. He visited a doctor, and for now, he is just taking pills for the pain. The rest of my family is in good health. My father is Camilo Hernandez de la Cruz, and he is 40 years old. Because of the pain in his arm, he is not able to work. However, he does farm work at home and grows corn and black beans for our consumption. My mother is Olga Simaj Riz, and she is 37 years old. She is a housewife and raises hens for selling to support our family. My family and I travel to pick coffee beans on the coast from November to January to get some income.

This is Rosenda Estela Hernandez Simaj, and I am a 11-year-old girl. This is my first year at school; I am in first grade, and I am doing well since I receive classes at school. Nowadays, school supplies are expensive, and it is hard for my parents to support me at school because of a lack of resources. In the future, I would like to work in a tortilla shop and support my family. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. On my birthday, I spend time with my family, and I receive some gift. The climate I prefer is winter because the environment is so fresh. My favorite drink is coffee. The sport I like the most is athletics. Being part of Living Water has been a great blessing for me because I receive tasty meals, and medical attention in the clinics which is a big help for me and my family. My family needs groceries, corn, clothes and medicines. I say goodbye to you for now. May God shine down his blessings on you!

Lots of love,

Rosenda Estela Hernandez Simaj
