My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially and hoping you are blessed by our Lord Jesus. This is Olga Marina Teodora de la Cruz Garcia and I am 10 years old. I am so happy to share with you a little about my family and me. My mother`s name is Rosa Garcia de la Cruz. She is 33 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home and carrying firewood for others in order to help my father with home expenses. In addition, she raises pigs and sheep for family consumption. My father`s name is Genaro de la Cruz Mendez. He is 43 years old. He continues working as a farmer and he supports us. We grow corn for family consumption.  As a big and humble family, our current need is corn. At the moment, we are attending Spring of Life Church once a week. Thankfully, we have Jesus in our hearts. I want to tell you that all my family and I are in good health.

This year I am in 3^rd grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day.  I have been learning a lot and I understand all about the homework. My parents strive to support my siblings and me at school. Currently, school fees are expensive and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of stable jobs. In the future, I want to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with other people. My favorite celebration of the year is “New Year” because I like to start a new year full of health. My favorite beverage is peach juice. What I like about my birthday is that my parents buy a “piñata” (a kind of poppets full of candies). About sports, I love to play soccer. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end.
