My Story

It is a beautiful day to greet you in the name of Jesus and I trust he is taking care of you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Catholic Church; we go once per week. We have already accepted Jesus in our hearts. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord.

My mother is Juana de la Cruz Morente, and she is 37 years old. Most of the time, she does the housework, and she also raises hens and pigs for our consumption. Sometimes, she sells them if we have some need. My father is Ramiro Garcia Luis, and he is 39 years old. He makes a living by farming the land in our village. At home, we grow corn and black beans for the family's consumption.

This is Neymar Yerinson Garcia de la Cruz, and I turn 9 years old in October of this year. I am in 2nd grade; I am learning many things since I am receiving classes at school. My parents do not have a good income because of a lack of work, and it is hard for them to support me at school and buy what I need. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect, I can speak a little Spanish, but I would like to improve it so that I can communicate better with other people. My dream is to become a fireman when I grow up. The sport I like the most is football. My favorite drink is “atol de masa” (it is a hot beverage made of dough, cinnamon and sugar); it is delicious. Someday, I would like to have a cake to celebrate my birthday and share with my family. It would be great for me. Being part of the Living Water is a big blessing for me because I receive a tasty meal which is a great help for me and my family. The greatest need is corn. I send much love and many hugs.
