My Story

My full name is Sergio Fernando Gutierrez Mendez, and I am so happy to share a little about my life with you. By the grace of the Lord, I am a healthy 12-year-old boy. I passed third grade last year, which was really satisfying. I am in fourth grade now, and I am so happy because I have a lovely and healthy family. Jesus is God’s son. He is the center of our lives, and even when we stopped attending church, He has never left us alone. I hope we can come back to church soon. Please pray for us. A member of the LW staff talked with my oldest brother and me recently to encourage us to continue trusting in the Lord.

I tell you that my mother is nurturing and understanding. She is always taking care of my siblings and me, while my father works as a mason’s helper. He also travels to the coast and works on a coffee farm for about three months. To contribute to the household expenses, my mother weaves typical belts and raises chickens to sell. Now, I want you to know that I made a good friend when I was young. My best friend’s name is David, and he loves playing soccer as I do. We also have a lot of fun running when we meet at school. It is time to say goodbye, but I appreciate you taking the time to read my information. I want you to know that my oldest brother helped me with this letter. Have a blessed day!
