My Story

Hello! I am so happy to greet you by this letter hoping you are fine. I am David Javier de la Cruz Mendez and I am 8 years old. Currently, we continue attending Full Gospel Church. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who encouraged my mother to continue seeking God. So, she is sure of her salvation in Jesus. Unfortunately, this year I am repeating 1st grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day and I have been learning well so far! So, I hope to pass this grade. My parents strive to support me at school even though they do not have a stable job. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is an interesting language around the world. My favorite celebration of the year is the town fair because fair rides and attractions come and I like to ride them. What I like to drink is pineapple juice. Among sports, I prefer to play soccer. I want to let you know that I enjoy celebrating my birthday with a special lunch and a delicious cake alongside my family. Thank God, all my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Marta Mendez Riz. She is 34 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home and raising hens and pigs to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Victor De La Cruz Morente. He is 43 years old.  Nowadays, he continues earning a living by working as a farmer and day laborer traveling to the coast from November to March to pick coffee beans. We grow corn and beans for the family`s consumption. Our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year´s end. Sending love. Every blessing to you!

Many hugs,

David Javier De La Cruz Mendez
