My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially and hope you have a successful and blessed day. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Florencia Lux Simaj and I am 9 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending any church. Thank you to the LW team for their encouraging words and because they shared the Gospel with my aunt during the visit. This year, I am in 3rd grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes and I am learning a lot about homework and playing with my classmates.  At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. My dream is to become a nurse. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English, it is a very important language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and we spend time with our relatives.  Athletics is my favorite sport. What I like to have for my birthday is a delicious cake. My favorite drink is “mosh” (a hot drink made with oatmeal). Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Tomasa Simaj. She is 27 years old. Currently, she lives in Guatemala City and works in a tortillas business there.  At the moment, she sends some money every 2 or 3 months to support the home expenses.  She comes to visit us every 6 months.  My grandmother Florencia takes care of us while my mother works.  We are a humble family, and our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every year`s end. This is all for now. Many blessings to you!

Kisses and hugs,

Florencia Lux Simaj
