My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. This is Santos Armando, and I hope you are keeping well. My family and I do not attend any church. As for health, we are doing well. My father, Francisco Mendez, is 40 years old. He makes a living as a farmer in our community. To get extra income, he tends his own small grocery store. My mother,

Natalia Vasquez, is 40 years old too. She is a very busy housewife. Nowadays, everything is expensive to buy our needs like groceries. Fortunately, LW has provided me with delicious food and Christmas gifts when my family and I have needed them the most. We have some hens, pigs, and cows at home. We also harvest corn, beans, cabbages, tomatoes, peaches, apples, and oranges for our family’s consumption.

As for me, let me tell you that I am twelve years old. I am in fourth grade again. I agree to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more and spend time with my friends at recess. My father is the only one who supports our family. Everything has turned pricey, so it has been hard for him to buy my school equipment. Driving a car catches my attention, so I would love to become a driver when I am older. I also would like to learn how to speak English. Christmas is a lovely time to eat delicious tamales and burn firecrackers, so it is my favorite. There are many juices, but I prefer apple juice. My favorite sport is cycling. I have fun celebrating birthdays, especially if it is mine. What I love the most is having a delicious cake and a small party at home. Before ending this letter, I want you to know that a member of the LW staff spoke with my mother to share the gospel and collect all this information for you. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear from you soon.

Kisses and hugs,

Santos Armando Mendez Vasquez
