My Story

Hello! My name is Erina Hysa. I am 10 years old, and my birthday is on January 28^th. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is pink, and my future dream is to become a hairdresser. I go to school in fourth grade and enjoy learning. My favorite subject I like to study best at school is Visual Arts. During this hour of lesson, we learn how to pain best, and I like drawing and coloring. I spend the first part of my day at school and enjoy my time learning and playing with my classmates. When I return from school, I like to spend a while inside the house and play together with my younger brother and sister. Afterwards, my brother and I go out to play and meet with our friends. The weather is quite warm and sunny and we get to play longer, since during the season of spring the days are longer. After playing, we go again inside the house, and we start to learn and prepare our lessons for the next day of school. My brother and I sit to study together and I help him when he is doing his school homework. My siblings and I spend a lot of time playing together in the house, and after playing my brother and I clean the room and put our games in the drawer so everything is in order. I care for my younger sister and watch over her during the time that my mother gets busy with things she has to get done in the house, like cleaning, cooking, etc. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We can visit this town very often because it is very close. My house offers good living conditions to us. I have five members in my family who are my parents, brother and sister. My brother is 8 years old and my sister is younger. My brother and I go to the same school together and he is also registered in the sponsorship program. My father during this year went again to work in Germany. He changed jobs and is not working in construction as last year. Instead, he got hired in farming. This year my father worked three months in Germany, and we are happy he can provide income for us and that he is hired in this country. He has his own car so he can reach to his job and return in Albania with his own transportation provided. It is nice we have a car because we can travel to go the town to go shopping, or go just for a day outside the village, for a change. My mother planted the vegetable garden we have near our house and she is working on it daily. The vegetables need to be watered very often till they grow and are ready for consumption. My father is working in Germany and our immediate needs for living are covered. Even though, we are challenged financially and we have a lot of needs and hardships to face, while living in a village. I frequent the Adopt a Child program where I receive food packages together with my brother. I am thankful to the teachers of the Bible classes for the spiritual education they offer to us through lessons and lots of other activities. Through the program we have also dental care provided to us and we are happy to go to the dentist and get our teeth fixed. Thank you for all your care and God bless you!
