Widow/Widower
Hello! My name is Nazike Balliu. I am 70 years old and my birthday is on December 25th. I have problems regarding health and go to the doctors every month to be checked and receive medication constantly. I take medicine for blood pressure and diabetic. As time goes on, I have even more difficulties walking so I try to walk slower so I have no pain in my joints. My husband died 32 years ago, and since then I am living alone as a widow. I was born in one of the villages of Mokra, among the mountains. When I got married, I moved to live with my husband near the town of Pogradec. I have an apartment. I have a son and a daughter and am grandmother of three grandchildren. My daughter lives with me since she got divorced. She is jobless and because of the health problems she has with her feet, she has not worked at all. My son emigrated to America. We see him very often whenever he chooses to visit us. In the past, I have been working and I get a monthly pension. I am retired since nine years and can say that this small pension has covered my very needs for my living. I depend on my son who help me financially and fulfil my basic living needs, but I do understand him to give me less support because he is also keeping his own family. I frequent regularly the church services on Fridays.
The Living Water church in Pogradec has helped me physically and spiritually and I am very happy that I got registered as widow. I have already many friends from the church since we have followed altogether the activities for many years. I love to engage with them in conversation as we meet before or after the services. I am very thankful to you all who care for me and who supply my needs for food. God bless you richly!
