My Story

Hello! My name is Eliseo Durbaku. I am happy to share about myself through this update information, prepared by Adopt a Child team. I am 4 years old and my birthday is on January. I am a healthy child. My favorite color is green. I like nature and especially the season of spring because during this season the trees and flowers bloom and it looks very pretty. My future dream is to become policeman so that I can be close to persons who need care and protection. I frequent kindergarten for the first part of my day but not during the three months of the summer. At present, the kindergartens are closed till September. I spend the summer playing outside with my friends and cousins. We play in the roads and do lots of running, we paly with ball, hide and seek, etc. The summers are hot in my country therefore we spend middays inside. I like to spend this time drawing and coloring and I also play with my toys that my parents have bought to me. I usually like to collect all my things after playing so that my mother can do cleaning. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We go to this town very often, especially during the weekends, to do the shopping. My parents go there when they need to receive community services through the offices, or whenever they need to do visits at the hospital. My house is in the village and offers appropriated living conditions for us. I have five people in my family who are my grandmother, parents and older brother. My brother frequents primary school and he is also registered in the sponsorship program. He helps my parents too, especially during the summer while they work in the fields, collect fruits and work in the garden of vegetables. My parents own land and they have planted quite a whole lot so that they can provide stock food for our cow. By keeping the cow, we benefit diary and my father sells every year the calves to earn more income, used to cover our basic needs. We have also chickens which I like to feed. My mother works in the land and garden and during the time she is out in the fields, she takes the cow with her to be feed in nature. My father is emigrating constantly and works in Greece for three months, doing various jobs in agriculture or construction. The income that he gets working there is better to compare with the benefits we have from our land or animals. My grandmother is a great help in our family as well. She feeds the cow, does cleaning, cooking, she helps my mother all the time with all that she can offer to help. she receives a small village pension but my parents supply for her every living need. Our family is not considered as very poor even that we are living with low income. I frequent the program of Adopt a Child together with my brother. We receive help and care from Adopt a Child. We receive food packages constantly as well as spiritual education. I am happy to learn in the Bible classes about the Lord. Thank you from my heart for the generous help and care you are giving to me and God bless you!
