My Story

Jocotenango, where your child lives, is in the state of Sacatepéquez, Guatemala and is a suburb of Antigua. It is an urban environment and is inhabited by both Quiché Indians and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). Most of the children attend school, but financial hardship affects many families and forces most of the children to leave after the sixth grade. Only one out of ten children finish high school. Children in this area face temptations from gangs and drugs.

Hello! My name is Beatriz Adriana Galindo Mota. I was born on November 15^th of 2017. I am a healthy girl, and I am now 6 years old. This year I am in kindergarten at school. I love to stay in touch with animals; I like rabbits. My favorite color is pink. I love eating vegetables. I live happily with my parents and siblings; I have three brothers and no sisters. Fortunately, my family and I are in good health. My father´s name is Jaime Eduardo Galindo Rodriguez. He does masonry work to get income, but he does not earn much. My mother´s name is Aura Beatriz Mota Coc. She stays busy with the chores at home.

We attend the Liberty Church from LW. We rent the house in which we live, and the monthly payment is Q1,200.00 = $160.00. There is running water and electricity; those services are included in the payment. There are two rooms made of cement blocks and a ceramic floor. My mother cooks in the courtyard of the house. As a family, the most needed items are groceries, and we pray to our Lord to bless us with our daily provision. Since my father is the only one who works, we have gone through difficulties in the economic area. I must walk 15 minutes to get to the feeding program. Thank you for reading my information.
