My Story

Kind regards from the beautiful Duenas town! I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. I want you to know that I am grateful to you for taking some minutes of your time to read my information. My name is Catarina Vanessa Marcos Pedro, and I am 9 years old. Thanks to the generosity of good-hearted people like you, I can enjoy delicious food and take part in the bible classes at the feeding program. My mother enrolled me there about three years ago because she heard that many children were being blessed with essential benefits like medical and dental care. I tell you that I am doing well and I attend first grade again. When I stay home, I usually help my mother to run errands. Hot weather has become unbearable lately, so I prefer cold.

I like attending the Holy Mass at the Catholic Church alongside my whole family. I live with my mother, four siblings, and relatives on my father’s side. Fortunately, none of them is sick. My mother is a housewife and works hard at a coffee farm during the harvesting time to support my siblings and me. On vacation, we usually help her at work by picking coffee beans. My grandfather has always helped us financially, which we really appreciate. Some of his children are still young and depend on him to survive. He makes a living in a plant nursery. My father left our home for a while, but he came back recently. He works as a farmer, but he has problems with alcohol. Please pray God touches his heart and changes his life.
