My Story

Special regards from Duenas town! I am Valery Sofia Sarai Hernandez Ordonez and it is such a blessing to greet you through this letter. Before sharing my updated information, I want you to know that LW-Adopt A Child has been a great blessing for me. My mother is grateful for the food and medical and dental care that I have received at the feeding program for about two years. I am 12 years old and I am doing my best at school as a sixth-grade student. Fortunately, I am a healthy teenager. I prefer the cold weather rather than hot because it is perfect to wear warm clothes before going to sleep. About my family, I tell you that everybody is doing well. My mother is a domestic employee and works in Guatemala City in order to maintain our family. While she goes to work, my grandmother takes care of my siblings and me.

I attend the Catholic Church alongside my family and our main motivation to persevere there is participating in the holy mass. My mother has assurance that God will allow her to go to heaven because she follows the commandments. Brother Emanuel (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged my family and me to continue believing in God’s promises and look for him. It is time to say goodbye, but I hope to hear from you soon.
