My Story

May the grace of the Lord be with you! I hope when you get this updated information, you are doing well. My name is Eliza Berenice Bustamante Barrios and I am grateful for all the tasty food and blessings that my sisters and I have received thanks to your support through LW-Adopt A Child. We have attended the feeding program for about one year and a half. What I like the most about the Bible classes is praying. I attend the second grade at school. I like hot weather because I enjoy playing with water with my siblings. I am 9 years old and despite having myopia, I am doing well. My mother and sisters also suffer from this condition. We do not wear glasses because of a lack of financial resources. Please pray for us and for a stable job for my father. Unfortunately, he ran out of work about six months ago. He is a hardworking man who does not give up and does any odd job to bring a little food home.

My mother also contributes to the expenses by selling pens, pencils, key-rings, and other items. My sisters and I usually help her with some household chores because we know she comes back home tired. I am in charge of doing the dishes. My mother was feeling unmotivated due to a challenging situation we have gone through. However, I trust that God will help us to move forward. Brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) prayed and shared the gospel with her as an encouragement to remember how good the Lord has been in her life. One of the things she shared with him is that she used to attend the feeding program when she was a child. She remembers that she went to Quiche with other children and visited the feeding program in that area. That was a blessing! At the moment, my father and her do not attend church. My sisters and I pray they will join us soon. We are members of a Christian Church where we have felt loved and cared for by our siblings in Christ.
