Chixocol
Guatemala
Child
Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.
Hello! I am very happy to share my information through this. My full name is Andry Jose Cac Naz. I was born on December 9th, 2019, in Zacualpa, Quiche, Guatemala. I am now 5 years old, and thanks to God, I am healthy. Since I am very young, I am not attending school yet. For now, I enjoy playing football at home. My favorite color is blue and the animal I like the most is the cat. I love eating black beans with cheese. I live with my parents, one brother and one sister. I am very happy to be part of the feeding program, and my siblings and I walk 45 minutes to arrive there; my mother accompanies us to the program.
My father´s name is Manuel Cac Sicajau. He works both as a day laborer and as a shopkeeper to provide for our family. He usually goes to work in Guatemala City for two months and then returns home. My mother´s name is Josefina Naz Aguilar de Cac. She takes care of the house and raises hens, turkeys, cows and pigs for selling. She also does embroidery for selling. Thankfully, my whole family is doing well. We are members of the Ebenezer Methodist Church. The house in which we live belongs to my paternal grandmother and she lives there too. There are two adobe rooms with a tin sheet roof and a cement floor. The kitchen is separated. There are running water and electricity services; my parents contribute to pay for them. The water is a yearly payment, and the electricity is a monthly payment. As a family, our greatest needs are groceries. Thank you very much for reading my information. Every blessing for you!
Lots of love,
Andry Jose Cac Naz
