My Story

Special regards from Guatemala City! It is such a pleasure to write this letter and tell you some of my 2026 news. My full name is Kimberly Jocabed Arreaga Prado, and I am so happy to tell you that I have attended the feeding program for one year and a half. What I like the most is listening about Jesus during the Bible classes. My family and I are grateful for the spiritual support and everything we receive through LW-Adopt A Child. When my mother heard that many children receive essential benefits like medical attention, she praised the Lord for this organization. I am a healthy 9-year-old girl, and I am in 3rd grade at school. I prefer cold weather to hot, and I usually fold and put up my clothes and sweep the floor at home to help my mother. She is a single mother and works hard by selling second-hand clothes from Thursdays to Sundays at the market.

My father occasionally helps us financially. He works as a motorcycle taxi driver. My grandmother, one aunt, and her daughters live with us too. They contribute to cover the expenses. About our spiritual life, I tell you that we no longer attend a church, but attend a Christian group. Our siblings in Christ have been kind and loving with us, which make us feel welcomed. Brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) recently proposed us the next question: if God asked you why should I allow you to get in Heaven, what will be your answer? My mother said that first, she would ask for forgiveness for being a sinner. Then, she would leave in his hands the decision to admit her into Heaven or not. A few minutes later, brother Juan shared the gospel and prayed for us, especially for my mother who was discouraged spiritually. My mother was grateful and said that she hopes to attend a church someday again. I say goodbye for now, but I thank you so much for taking the time to read my information.

From the bottom of my heart,

Kimberly Jocabed Arreaga Prado
