My Story

Hello! My name is Melisa. My birthday is in June and I am 6 years old. My health is good. My favorite color is pink and my future dream is to become singer and perform in concerts and performances. I started on September the first grade primary school. I was excited to start school and was happy to go through this new experience. I got the school uniforms, school supplies and I was happy to meet with my teacher and classmates. My village is small and a lot of people have gone to live in the town or other locations, therefore we have no school there. I need to travel to the village next to ours to take the school there. The transportation is provided from the school. When I return from school, I like to go and play outside with my friends who live near my house, I like to play with ball, elastics, hide and seek, etc. I have a younger sister, and we spend a lot of time playing together in front of our house. We take our toys and dolls out to play and have a very nice time of playing outside in the nature. When we enter inside the house, while I study for school, my sister draws and colors. So she is nice not to disturb me. I like to follow my mother when she goes to the groceries store and buys what we need and I usually ask her to buy me fresh drinks or other sweets. My sister and I spend time watching cartoons or other programs for children on television. I live in a village that belongs to the community of Pogradec. Our village is far from the town, but we travel there whenever we need to be there to receive community services, get visits to hospitals, buy things that are missing in the shops of the village etc. I go to town rarely but I enjoy going there and seeing the difference that it has compared to our village. I have four members in my family who are my father, mother, my younger sister and me. My sister goes kindergarten and she is also registered in the sponsorship program. My sister and I frequent the activities of the program regularly. We enjoy learning about the Lord and we benefit food packages as physical help to us and our family. My family owns land and deals with farming, but what is gained from planting is very less. My mother usually plants vegetables in our garden and we have fruit trees. My father is emigrating for a season or two during the year and works to provide for us in places like Greece or Macedonia. We miss him when he goes to work in these countries, but we are happy that he works and has this opportunity. My mother gets hired mainly in agriculture and earns enough income to provide for our basic needs. My mother is housekeeper. She cares for us and as well busy with gardening, cleaning, cooking, etc. Our house is in good conditions of living. We are living with very low income and I am thankful to the program of Adopt a Child for the help they offer to us, spiritually and physically. God bless you!
