My Story

Hello! My name is Hamide Hyko. I am 62 years old, a widow that lives alone. My birthday is on March 9^th.I am in good health. I have five children, four daughters and one son. They are married,so, I live in a separate home and cover my living expenses. Three of them  emigrate and live there and the other twoo are married also and live around Pogradec comunitys.In the past I used to work in agriculture, and now I am retired and receive retirement payment. This amount doesn’t last much but I cover my basic needs. I am a housewife.In my free time I like to spend time with my friends. I have a vegetable garden close to my home and I plant tomatoes, peppers, beans, onions etc. I also have some fruit trees for self consumption. We don't have any lifestock, and I don't sell any of my products.I am happy to be part of the church and frequent regularly the church services as well as the ladies meetings. The Living Water Adopt a Child team is doing  meetings on two days during the week. On Mondays we have two ladies meetings,a man meeting and also work with children. The church service is every Wednesday. Once in two months the widows who are in the program receive a food package containing ingredients that are cooked at home. The package contains food items as sugar, rice, oil, pasta, etc, items that can be cooked and can cover ten to twelve meals for the whole family. Thank you for helping the widows and through them the whole community spiritually and physically.
