My Story

Hello! name is Dionis Menkshi. I am 9 years old and my birthday is on December 19^th. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to become a football player. I go to third grade primary school and enjoy learning. My favorite subject I like to study the best at school is Mathematics and I am also enjoying the sport training lessons we take there. I like to spend my time after school playing football with my friends who are same age with me. We finish school around midday and as soon as I go into the house, I greet my father and grandmother. I help my grandmother and sister while they clean the house and I also remember my father to take his medicine. I like to spend a lot of time during the evening to play together with my sister, after we study for the next school day. She checks on my homework before I deliver it to my teacher. I live in the town of Pogradec in a house that our grandmother managed to buy after moving from a village that is in a remote area. The name of the village we moved from is Homezh. My father is suffering from mental illness and for this reason he takes medication. He is classified invalid and for this reason, he gets a pension from the government, used basically to cover his own living needs. My mother has divorced my father since we where living in the village. She comes to see us every time she desires, so my sister and I see her often. My grandmother is the household and she is carrying for the needs of my father and for our needs. She is retired from her job as farmer and her pension is one of the lowest. We face financial hardships and we have so far other family members in our big family circle helping us with all that they can. I am happy that I am now registered in the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child and will start to receive food packages. I have come to the church of the program in Pogradec and enjoy the Bible classes and all the activities of the church. Thank you for your care and generosity. God bless you!
