Widow/Widower
Hello! My name is Lirije Buzo. I am 68 years old, and my birthday is on August 12th. My health is not so good. I take medication for blood pressure, and I have also problems with my theroid grander. Every month, I need to go to the doctors so they can do the routine check and give me medication. I am living as widow for 20 years, since my husband died. I have three children, two sons and a daughter. They are married and I am grandmother of three grandsons and four granddaughters. Before coming to live in the town, I used to live in a rural area and have worked for many years in agriculture. I am now retired, but the pension is very small. I am happy that my children are supporting me and covering a lot of what is needed for me. I live with my son and his family. He has managed to buy a house in a village that is near Pogradec. My son works in construction, and he is hired when they make isolations of roofs with tar. This job is one of the hardest because of the smoke that comes out from the boiling tar, but my son still does it to provide income for his family and me. The pay of my son is low and for this reason, his wife is also working part-time. She has been hired from families who have elderly people and she cares for these people who are left totally to live alone and without anyone close to them. She has a few homes where she goes to do cleaning, cooking and care for elderly people and the income she gets is low, depending on how many time she is hired to go and work for them. When the wife of my son is working, I do my best to help her, cleaning, cooking and looking after my grandsons, till she comes.
I attend the church of the program in Pogradec and have come faithfully for many years, bringing my grandson to attend the Bible classes and the activities of the church. I was glad to hear the team ask me to come and be registered in the program as widow and person in need. I am thankful to the sponsorship program for the food packages as well as for the spiritual care that is offered to us. I have come to the activities that the church organizes for the ladies and enjoy hearing the preaching every Friday, while I attend the service.
