My Story

Hello and greetings. I am happy for the opportunity to be registered in the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child and here is my personal story. My name is Mineld and I am a 15-year-old boy. My birthday is in March. My favorite color is blue, and my future dream is to study computer programing and become a professional IT.  I go to school in 8th grade and enjoy the time I spend with my classmates and friends, learning and having a good time of fun, fellowship and games, after the lessons. My favorite subject at school is Technology Informatics where we learn about using different programs on the computer. The weather is nice at present and after school, my friends and I like to meet to play. I like playing football. From time to time, my friends chose to have walks by the lake, and I like to walk and spend my time with them.

When I am out of school, I like to be in the house so I can care for my brother who is a child with different abilities. He has autism and is super active. We play together inside the house, I make drawings for him to color, and I sit by him while he plays with his toys and games. I care for him, so that my mother finds time to clean, cook and do what she is left behind doing around the house. My mother cares for him all day, so I am helping her with what I can offer to do. Carrying for a child with autism is hard. We are happy that he goes to a carrying center for children who are classified with special abilities as his. I also like to spend my free time playing with a videogame that my mother has bought to me.

Our family lives in the town of Pogradec. We own our apartment and so far is in good condition. My family consists of my mother, brother and me. My father died young, after suffering from an uncured illness. My mother works full time as teacher in a public school in a village that is nearby. She teaches Geography. My mother receives a little extra amount, as social assistance or help. This is given so she can better care for our needs, especially for my brother who is in medical condition. We are in need and our mother is a single parent, doing her best to raise us up. I am thankful to the program of Adopt a Child for the provision of food we receive every two months. I started to attend the church services every Friday and enjoy hearing the preachings of our pastor. Thank you for the physical and spiritual care offered to me and my brother and God bless you!
