My Story

Hello! My name is Armando. I am 7 years old and my birthday is on September. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is orange and my future dream is to become police officer. I like to be active, run a lot and I am very curious, getting to all things that are new for me. I started school on September. I was very happy and excited to go to school and meet with my new friends of school and classmates. In the first days, everything was new for me, but now I am steeling fine. I enjoy learning and the subject I like to study best is ABC book and reading book. When I return from school, I like to meet with my friends who live nearby and we play with ball, do lots of running and have a lot of fun and a good time. When I play outside my mother always keeps an eye on me. My mother takes me for walks during the weekends and I enjoy going for a walk by the lake and playing in the park of the town. I have car toys in the house, and especially now that the weather is getting colder, I spend a lot of time playing with them in our living room. I live in the town of Pogradec. My family consists of five members who are my parents, two brothers and I. My parents used to live in a rural village and they have decided to move to t he town, so at present, they are renting the house in which we live. My father is not working daily and the jobs that are offered to him are the lowest that people do. He is hired from people when they buy wood for fire, so he chaps wood, carries them in houses and piles them up. Doing such job, he erns very little income. On the other hand, he is not hired every day and when he is not hired, we are left to live with very little income. My mother is not working as well and she says in the house, doing cleaning, cooking and the rest of the housekeeping. In this situation of poverty, we were suggested by several of our neighbors to come and join the project of Adopt a Child. I attend the program together with my mother and I enjoy learning about the Lord in the Bible classes. My mother started also to follow the church services on Fridays and soon, I will get the first food package.  I am very happy that I can receive help and care from Adopt a Child program.
