My Story

Hello! First of all, I want to express my gratitude for taking time to read my letter. My name is Elicia Carmelina Mendez Mechen and I hope you are enjoying our God’s richest blessings with your family. I am 13 years old and this year, I am repeating second grade again. I usually receive classes and hand in homework twice a week. This study method has been difficult for me because I do not learn enough and I quickly forget the little that I learned. My father works hard, in order to bring us all the necessities to survive; he works as a day laborer and farmer. He also travels to the coast to work in the coffee plantation picking coffee beans, fertilizing and pruning to get extra money. My mother also works hard raising domestic animals for selling, and in this form, she contributes with the incomes. Covid-19 affected us financially. Bcause of this situation, my parents had to ask for loans and now they are paying for them.

Despite the circumstances, we never lacked food in our home since God has been faithful with us all the time. We received grocery bags from Living Water and they were a great blessing for us. So, I am so grateful to you for bringing us your support. We always pray for each sponsor who watches over many families so that God takes care of you. Thankfully, my whole family and I are in good health. We are members of Prince of Peace Church and our services are for three hours on Wednesdays. Finally, let me tell you that my father Samuel Mendez assisted a member of the Evangelism team to update this information about me by phone, since the staff want to protect us from the current pandemic. I leave you for now, but do not forget that I love you so much.

Many kisses and hugs,

Elicia Carmelina Mendez Mechen
